Our new High School Bible, Geography, English, and Business Teacher, Jodi Shockey, is a PCS alumni from the class of 1987! We’re so happy to have her back on our Warrior team. We asked her to answer some questions about herself to share with you!
Both of Jodi’s kids graduated from PCS (Hannah Sloboda, '14 and Andrew Sloboda '16); her brother (Daryl Shockey) also graduated here '96, and his daughter is in first grade. Jodi also coached volleyball at PCS a number of years ago. Jodi started school here in 7th grade.
Jodi went to Geneva College, and got a B.A. in Communications and Secondary ed. Before coming to teach at PCS, she taught many places to many types of students. When asked why she wanted to be a teacher Jodi said, “I liked it and I was good at it.”
Jodi has three pets (2 dogs, 1 cat) that she adores; she loves crafting, especially scrapbooking and making greeting cards. Jodi is teaching Bible 7, geography 7, ELA 10, and Intro to Business 11-12. Jodi says, “I love my classroom and I love my students!”
When asked why she chose PCS Jodi said, “PCS is near and dear to my heart, and overall, I feel they offer a great well-rounded education.” When asked how her experience at PCS has been different from past schools Jodi answered, “Incredible administrative support! Overall positive attitude from everyone around me.”
When asked what would you tell a family considering sending their children to PCS Jodi replied “Do it!” Jodi adds “It is a privilege and blessing to be here, and I am grateful.” She also notes “In the picture with me, left to right is my son-in-law, Kyle, my daughter, Hannah, and my son Andrew.”
