The Shockey Family
Daryl and Brett Shockey have decided to send their first-grader to PCS this fall! We’re so happy to have them as part of the Warrior Family, and we wanted to share their story with you! We asked them to answer some questions about their experience at PCS, and this is what they had to share about their story.
Daryl is a PCS alumni from the graduating class of 1996. Daryl’s sister, Jodi Shockey, and her two children also attended PCS. Jodi started teaching at PCS this fall, as a teacher in our High School. We’re so glad to have her back!
Before coming to PCS, their daughter, Piper, went to preschool and kindergarten at Butler Montessori School. When asked why they chose PCS they answered, “We wanted Piper to attend a school that not only provided a great education, but also surrounded her with faithful teachers and staff. Piper loves Jesus, and we wanted to cultivate this as much as possible!”
When asked how their experience at PCS has been different from past schools they said, “It is still pretty new for us, but so far everyone that we have encountered at the school has been warm and welcoming. I have to give a shout out to Mrs. Myers. She has already made a wonderful impression on Piper. Mrs. Myers has an obvious love for teaching her students. She does a great job of making sure everything is easily understood for parents and students.”
When asked what they would say to another family considering sending their children to PCS they answered, “Take a tour and see what PCS is about. PCS is a gem, and it is definitely worth checking out.”
Brett says, “Like most parents, we worry about the environment that our children will be learning in. To find such a wonderful place to send your children is an answer to prayer. Our son, Parker (4), can’t wait to go to “the big kid school” with his sister. We are looking forward to the years that come at PCS.”
